At its regular monthly meeting and annual organization of the Board on December 6, the Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Board of Trustees unanimously elected Trustee Vivian Malauulu as Board of Trustees President for 2024. Trustee Dr. Virginia Baxter was unanimously elected as the Board of Trustees Vice President.

The Campaign for College Opportunity announced that º£½ÇÉçÇø (LBCC) is amongst 27 California Community Colleges and California State University (CSU) campuses leading the way to simplify transfer for students as part of the annual Champions of Higher Education for Excellence in Transfer award ceremony. º£½ÇÉçÇøwill be recognized as 2023 Equity Champions of Higher Education for working with intentionality to support Black students through the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT).

(September 29, 2023) – Excelencia in Education, the nation’s premier authority on efforts accelerating Latina/o/x student success in higher education, announced today that º£½ÇÉçÇø (LBCC) has been recertified with the prestigious Seal of Excelencia for demonstrating through data, evidence-based practices, and leadership, how it is intentionally serving Latina/o/x students.

º£½ÇÉçÇøBreaks Ground for New $75M Performing Arts Facility
The all-new structure will replace existing Buildings G and H on the Liberal Arts Campus.

º£½ÇÉçÇø (LBCC) broke ground for a future state-of-the-art music and theatre complex today during a celebration at the Liberal Arts Campus. The new 67,000 square foot, $75-million Performing Arts Center will house the LBCC’s Performing Arts, Music, Dance, and Radio/TV/Broadcasting departments and is scheduled to be open for classes by Spring Semester 2026.
