As a first-generation college student and former community college attendee, I began my academic journey with an AA in Psychology from Cerritos College, followed by a BA in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and a Master鈥檚 in Clinical Psychology with an MFT track from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). This degree provided me the opportunity to engage in research on pain, anxiety, PTSD, virtual reality, and program evaluation at Children鈥檚 Hospital Los Angeles.
Erika Santizo
Assistant Professor, Ethnic Studies
A first-generation immigrant student and product of the community college system. She transferred from Santa Monica College to the University of California Santa Cruz where she earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Latin American & Latino Studies and History. Her passion for equity and justice inspired her to earn a master鈥檚 degree in education with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies and Social Justice from the University of California Los Angeles.
