Let us celebrate the herculean contributions made by the empowering women of our 海角社区community! In honor of Women鈥檚 History Month and the National Women鈥檚 History Alliance, three recipients will be selected to be recognized later this month.  

Please nominate a student, staff, faculty, or administrator that self-identifies as a woman at 海角社区 who you believe should be recognized as part of our 2023 celebration. This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淐elebrating Women Who Tell Their Stories 鈥 Elevating the Women of LBCC鈥.

Umoja Scholars Program

Umoja, (a Kiswahili word meaning unity) is a community and resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students. The goal of the UMOJA Scholars community is to help students build a strong community as the foundation for their academic journey. Your voice and experiences matter. Through course offerings, social events, college tours and student services we celebrate your diversity, encourage your intellectual contributions and promote your academic achievement.
