Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU ATTENDED LBCC?

A: For 8 months. I have been at 海角社区since the Fall semester.

Q: WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND LBCC?

A: I first decided to study abroad in California because of the wide variety of people. The biggest reason I chose 海角社区is that the Long Beach area is not too crowded and the commute is quite manageable. The Long Beach area seemed to be a perfect area to study.

Q: WHAT WERE YOUR EXPECTATIONS WHEN COMING TO LBCC?

A: I expected an environment that would help me achieve my goals. I also believed that the people attending the community would be kind and supportive.

Q: WHAT DOES 海角社区MEAN TO YOU?

A: It鈥檚 a place where I can pursue my dreams and meet a lot of new people. 海角社区is the first stepping stone on the path to go after my long-term goals.

Q: WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?

A: My mom is one of the greatest role models in my life. She traveled abroad to Japan in the past which was one of my main motivators to do so here in America. The support that she provided our family has always been impressive and I look up to her for that.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PASSION?

A: I thoroughly enjoy working with the Japanese Culture Club and helping it to grow. Studying and keeping a high GPA, as well as volunteering for numerous jobs both on and off campus.

Q: IN WHAT WAY HAVE YOU MADE AN IMPACT AT LBCC?

A: I think the diversity. Thankfully, I met a lot of students who were interested in other countries and culture. I am willing to share my experiences in Japan and the talk about the difference between the two countries. In Japanese Culture Club, I am trying my best to share unique Japanese culture with our great officers, so hopefully, it made some impact at LBCC.

Q: HOW HAS 海角社区SHAPED YOU INTO YOUR BEST SELF?

A: Attending this college has helped me to become more productive. This is the first school I鈥檝e gone to in the United States, so being immersed in such a large diversity of people has really broadened my world perspective. 海角社区has brought out a more competitively, academic side of me.

Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR NEW LBCC STUDENTS?

A: I鈥檇 suggest that the students take advantage of the tutoring opportunities at the school and access to electronics in the Library.

Q: IF THERE IS ONE THING 海角社区HAS TAUGHT YOU, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

A: The school has helped me to become more studious by encouraging me to complete my work in a timely manner.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR PROFESSIONAL GOALS?

A: One of my main goals is to establish a business that provides assistance to disadvantaged people. I plan to pursue this goal once I meet my educational goals in my education.

Q: WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO AFTER YOU LEAVE LBCC?

A: I plan to transfer from 海角社区and attend UCLA if I have the chance.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the future?

A: I鈥檇 like to get a job that allows me to travel between different countries. I want to work in many different environments and broaden my world perspective. My ultimate goal is pursuing entrepreneurship and establish more schools here which teach Japanese.
