Students who earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree, an Associate in Science (AS) degree, or an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) complete their general educations and attain LBCC鈥檚 Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs).鈥嬧

The mission of 海角社区 is its commitment 鈥渢o providing equitable student learning and achievement, academic excellence, and workforce development by delivering high-quality educational programs and support services to our diverse communities.鈥 To ensure this is taking place, SLO assessment at the institutional level focuses on students鈥 abilities to meet the ISLOs. In March 2019, the following ISLOs were approved by the College:鈥嬧

  1. Appreciate and interpret a range of cultural expression in the arts and humanities to generate useful and original ideas.鈥
  2. Effectively communicate with, and respond to, varied audiences in written, spoken, signed, or artistic forms.鈥
  3. Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and diagnostics skills with an understanding of research, science, as well as information literacy and quantitative reasoning.鈥
  4. Critically and ethically engage in global and local issues with sensitivity to the diversity of individuals, groups, and cultures.鈥
  5. Demonstrate the skills required to successfully enter and advance in the workforce, fulfill one鈥檚 educational goals, and make lifestyle choices that promote personal well-being.鈥嬧嬧嬧
