Individual Dual Enrollment is for middle and high school students desiring to enroll in 海角社区courses on their own and outside of their high school class schedule. Individual Dual Enrollment students may enroll in any 海角社区available course if prerequisite requirements are met. Visit 海角社区Course Schedule.

Enrollment Steps

Dual Enrollment Registration Checklist

1. Apply for Admission
  • by creating an OPENCCC account and completing an application for the Summer/Fall or Winter/Spring semester at LBCC.
  • Only first-time students will receive a college acceptance email with an 海角社区Viking ID number approximately 48-72 hours after applying.
  • Students must reapply if they stopped attending 海角社区for two consecutive main terms 鈥 Fall & Spring.
2. Submit Your Dual Enrollment Form
  • Once you receive your Viking ID number, complete the High School Dual Enrollment Form.
  • Submit the form to  OR in-person at the Admissions & Records (A&R) office at LAC, A-1075 or PCC, GG-102.
  • You will get an email from the 海角社区A&R team that your form has been processed within 48-72 hours.
  • Important: The form must be fully complete with all required signatures to be approved by the 海角社区A&R office. Form only needs to be submitted one-time for dual enrollment participation. 
3. Set Up Viking Portal & Complete New Student Orientation - 
  • Using your Viking ID number, set up your Viking Portal through the .
  • Click 鈥淣ew/Forgotten Password鈥 to create a password.
  • Access the New Student Orientation in the 鈥淪tudent Service鈥 tile, then click on 鈥淢y Orientations鈥 tab.
  • To receive credit, you must complete the 鈥淣ew Student Orientation鈥 and complete the final test with a passing score of 80% or higher.
  • Your account hold will be removed after 3 hours of successful completion. This is a requirement to register for classes.
4. Register for Classes

First-time students must receive a message from 海角社区A&R confirming that the dual enrollment form has been processed.

  • Eligible dual enrollment students will be able to register for classes during LBCC鈥檚 open registration (See LBCC鈥檚 Registration Dates).
  • To access your Ed Plan (Degree Planner) click on the 鈥淏uild Schedule鈥 tab, then click on 鈥淢y Ed Plan (Degree Planner)鈥.
  • To register for those classes, select 鈥淐lass Search and Enroll鈥 also located on the left menu column.

Important Reminders

  • Tuition/Enrollment Fees are FREE for students. In other words, the cost of the course is FREE for dual enrollment students.  
  • Students are REQUIRED to pay for Student Fees each academic term 鈥 approximately $40 Fall/Spring and $30 Summer/Winter. Additional fees may apply such as course material fees for textbooks or other school supplies. See LBCC鈥檚 Student Fees.
  • Per Federal Educational Privacy Laws (FERPA), parents/guardians will not have access to the student鈥檚 records, including grades & transcripts, without their written consent. See FERPA FAQs page.
  • All students, including dual enrollment students, must adhere to the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy to be eligible for financial aid upon enrolling as an entering freshman at LBCC. See 海角社区SAP Policy.
  • Eligibility for the Long Beach College Promise will not be affected by taking college courses.

Complete this form to submit a request for increasing the amount of college units you take as a dual enrolled student at LBCC.

Complete this form if you satisfy a prerequisite to enter a college course. If you need a prerequisite clearance, please make an appointment with a counselor. . 

*PLEASE NOTE: Some college courses require a prerequisite (a course or assessment that must be satisfactorily completed before a higher level course may be taken).
