Rotary Donates $10,000 to 海角社区Emergency Fund
The recently received a generous donation of $10,000 from the Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation (LBRCF).
Retired 海角社区Dean and current LBRCF President Gail Schwandner announced the donation as part of a $70,000 donation in which half is to provide direct COVID-19 relief to local education and community organizations. Other recipients included California State University Long Beach Student Emergency Fund, the Long Beach Community Foundation Coronavirus Relief Fund, and the Salvation Army Long Beach Citadel COVID-19 Response.
Since the pandemic hit in mid-March, many 海角社区students have struggled with job and income loss, resulting in a focused effort by the 海角社区Foundation, the District, donors and the community to locate additional aid for them during this time.
